The annual Welcome BBQ and parent information night are hosted by the Parents and Friends (P&F) committee and will take place on Friday 9 February from 5.00pm.
The Welcome BBQ is the first official P&F run event of the school year. The committee invites both new and current families to attend the popular event, where the college community to come together to welcome new families joining the school.
Catered by the P&F, students will eat between 5-6.00pm, after which they head off to enjoy a movie, and parents can then relax with their meal and hear more about college life for their students.
A gold coin donation is requested for students watching the movie, with all proceeds going to Caritas Australia, an international charity that seeks to end poverty.
The P&F committee is comprised of a group of active and supportive parents. College P & F President, Mrs Deanne Berndt said the main aim of the committee is to foster a warm and inviting community and invited parents to attend committee meetings.
“The committee’s main aim is to foster a warm and inviting community within the college, and members work to raise funds that go directly back into the college to support all student’s learning requirements. We warmly welcome any parents who are available to attend the relaxed and informal style meetings,” Mrs Berndt said.
