The Annual Year 9 Tall Ships experience was a fantastic success with students spending the day on the waters of Moreton Bay.
The adventure sees students working together sailing the South Passage ship where they are required to rapidly learn the basics of navigation, raising and lowering sails, tying knots and steering the ship. Students then anchor at Peel Island where they are able to swim and enjoy the surroundings.
Principal, Mr Glenn McConville said the experience teaches the important life skill of teamwork.
“Everyone has a job to do to contribute to the success of the day for all on board,” Mr McConville said.
“Staff on the ship were very quick to praise our students on how well mannered and well behaved they were.
“Great work to our year 9 students.”
