Mt Maria College, Mitchelton Year 9 Student, Sam Blackwell will Ride 100kms for Cancer Research.

Sam Blackwell and his team mates will ride to support the Susan Suduk One Day to Conquer Cancer challenge.

The event is being held on Sunday 20 August and attracts thousands of participants each year.

Sam started training for the event in January of this year and said: “Since I started training I have ridden over 700 kilometres and I know I’m ready to take on this challenge, but I now need your help.”

“One in two Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and I really want to help make a difference, so I have pledged to raise a minimum of $500.” Year 9 Student, Sam Blackwell said.

Funds raised will go towards clinical research, patient care and other initiatives so that Queenslanders with cancer will have access to the latest treatment options to enable the best possible health outcomes.
